Re: template of the rear reinforcement plates

He's in the Netherlands like me, if he buys the plates they will be close to 300 bucks or so when at his door because of the insane shipping fees and import duty and taxes. IF he can cut it himself he's done for a couple of bucks.

Re: template of the rear reinforcement plates

You can't make your own template out of cardboard and transfer it to the steel plate? A picture or two should give you the information you need about size & position.

Re: template of the rear reinforcement plates

I happen to be the guy that designed it and gave the idea to Steve Spohn. It is very simple to do just as Jim85IROC suggests. That is how I did it originally. I also helped spohn with technical advice on the front setup also but have long lost all the data on my old computer that crashed several years back. The fronts I suggested to him to use the Torrington thrust bearings on both side of the springs since the coilover had to twist in steering rotation to turn the car.

Re: template of the rear reinforcement plates

I would also suggest to you to use BMR's "bolt-on LCARB's" but also weld them into place.

Why?

Because the added "bolt-on" leg of the assembly added extra strength to the bottm of the mount where the coilover sits it's weight upon.

Then you can grind the old spring pocket mounts off the axle to shave weight- especially the bulky driver side, and refit the PHB mount with a jegs unit that is boxed with lesser material comining off the axle vertical top and bottom rather than that massive and ackward boxed spring cup

Re: template of the rear reinforcement plates

1/4" steel - no need to be exact to make your own.
These pics should help.

Re: template of the rear reinforcement plates

No, I put all this junk in.
However, I did use the plates for the coil-over (bottom left) for additional assurance, just like the rears.
