Rear strut mount bump stops or re-locate

Hello.

Looking for some help with rear bump stops. First I will say my factory rear bump stops are gone. Brackets gone as well. (In retrospect wish I had not done this)

Reason for this is for wheel clearence and suspension travel. Wheels were constantly hitting and rubbing the metal brackets. Visible damage on wheels.

Recently damaged one tire due to rough roads and lack of bump stops. I have been extensively using th search function. I have found strut mounted bump stops. Do these work. Which ones would I need to achieve a factory height bump stop?

Or would it be better to re-locate bump stops on the frame somewhere, where I would still get the clearence I need for the wheels.

Open to suggestions.

Thanks.

I relocated the bumpstops to the inside of the framerail after a minitub. Same mounting style as stock just about 8" inboard

Thank you for the reply. Do you have any pictures of this?

Re: Rear strut mount bump stops or re-locate

Koni and I'm sure others make variable rate bump stops that fit on the shafts of their shocks

I also have cut my bumpstops out, as well as the mounts and some of the sheet metal that the bump stop mounts were attached to (my Z06 wheels would hang up on them), and I found the right koni bump stops for my Koni yellows, but I haven't put them on (honestly I haven't had any rubbing or other issues without them).

Re: Rear strut mount bump stops or re-locate

Thanks for the reply.

I have seen those. Do you know if they would fit on a KYB silver strut?

I cut the bump stop for the same reason 83 crossfire ta. My vette wheels 10.5 in rear were hitting the stop.

86TA do you have a pic of your setup.

Thanks.

Re: Rear strut mount bump stops or re-locate

86 TA any pictures of where you re-located the bump stops to. I see on my car where they could potentially go but it would appear I would need to move a brake line to make this work.

Thanks
