Where to buy Tokico Illuminas???
I was going with Brothers Performance and RPMSpeed, when they both informed me that they were no longer selling Tokico. According to Mike at RPMSpeed their orders from them kept getting delayed so they removed Tokico from the catalog.
Now, the rears (BE3613) are $130 anywhere else which is more than I can get konis for.
The front (BB4001) are almost $200, which again, might as well buy konis.
Shox.com has all 4 for $542 which is $100 more than a previously planned on for a set. At that price I might as well get Bilstein though.
I've checked a dozen sites and it is either not available or its a ridiculous price every time. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it.

I think it may be advisable to just keep saving a little longer and upgrade to the koni yellows. Especially since it seems as if you may not be far off. From my understanding, they are the top of the class for our cars.
Once my "Camaro account" is built up again, that's what I will be doing.

Re: Where to buy Tokico Illuminas???
The thing is, money isn't really the problem. I've actually got 2 checks sitting in my room right now. Either one could buy me a full set of koni yellows. I'm just not comfortable spending more than 500ish right now.
I'll probably have to do koni or bilstein rears and kyb agx for the front. There is a set of Illuminas on ebay that come with lowering springs but its in Canada and idk about the import fees and such.

In browsing through Shox.com I saw that they do offer the Tokico Illumina shocks if you are still interested in purchasing them.

Re: Where to buy Tokico Illuminas???
Thanks for replying. That's probably the best deal left. I ended up buying the ilk208 kit for a little less than $540 on ebay. So a little better than the shox.com price but with lowering springs included. I think I got the last set and it had to ship from Canada.

I've got less than two weeks to finish installing that kit, an engine swap, strut mount repair, paint and the fuel pump, but I'll be sure to post once the cars driving.

Re: Where to buy Tokico Illuminas???
Are these old stocks laying around or did they actually bring these shocks back?
I have run these shocks for 10 yrs and they were awesome. 5 adjustments made it easy to dial in from drag race to road course handling. I even went 1.28 60' 8.24 at 169 with them on my high hp turbo car. I didnt even have to make an adjustment from my street settings. Great price back then as well. Dont know why they were discontinued or so i thought. Could not find them to buy again and i been looking for few years.

From what I could tell from the packaging, they've been sitting awhile. It's really a shame there's no adjustable shocks at this price range and quality anymore. Do you remember what settings you ran them at?

Re: Where to buy Tokico Illuminas???
Normal street driving i was about 3 in rear and 4 front. 5 being stiffest and 1 lightest
If i really wanted to carve corners i would do 4 rear 5 front
Drag when i was all motor or nitrous running 10's and slower, 1.5 60's and slower, i would do 1-2 front 3 rear.
Turbo car with big power i had them at 4-5 front and 4 rear. Do not want too much weight transfer on a high hp car, it unloads to fast and upsets rear tires.

They are on the car. The lowering looks great, I'll try to get a pic. I have only test drove it once. Finishing off the 5.3 swap right now, just need new fuel lines and the new exhaust is now way too low haha. Once thats done, I'll test it out with some new tires and let everybody know.

Re: Where to buy Tokico Illuminas???
Wish i could find a set of illuminas. I did find a site that supposedly have them in stock but the site looks shady and if they accepted Paypal i would take the chance since paypal always protects the buyer. I can do it with a card but its more of a hassle reporting a scam to your credit card company. cant find them on ebay either. if there was a larger demand iam sure hitachi/tokico would bring them back.

The Shox link that Anthony posted is probably your best bet. I'm away from the car until March so as long as I get the trans adjusted right, there will be a real update then.

You look into the koni STR.Ts? Unless you're after the adjustability. The Bilstein AK series are cheaper than HDs or Sports but I think there's no warranty as they're gbasically an autox shock. It's been like 6 months since I researched all this, just trying to remember my other options.

You hit it on the nail i am after the adjustability. I think it was Tokico and the Konis that only offered the adjustability if my memory serves me right unless you change over to coil over but thats crazy money if you go to Qa1's. I wanted Tokico because i installed those along with BMR springs, tubular control arms on my dads 71 monte carlo and wow they are just amazing!! On my 73 Pontiac Firebird i have the bilsteins and honestly i dont like them at all, too bouncy for me.

Re: Where to buy Tokico Illuminas???
Just throwing this out there...
I am removing my set of front and rear Tokico Illuminas that have been on the car and about 25,000 miles on them since I am upgrading to Koni Yellows all around. I was going to sell them to my cousin cheap, but would consider selling them to someone here if the price is right. i loved them, but I want to do more auto-crossing so I am going oni yellows.
I used to keep them at 4 front and 3 rear. for auto-crossing I bumped them up to 5 front and 4 rear. they still work good as new i just want better

Re: Where to buy Tokico Illuminas???
This about the cheapest place I've found for Koni yellows.
https://www.redline360.com/koni-yell...ntiac-firebird
With a 3% off coupon and adding shipping it comes to about $703 for a full set.
I'm sure there's better deals to be had if you're patient.
