Strut mount removal for painting.

Strut mount removal for painting.
I'm getting ready to prep and paint my engine bay. Its just about empty. What have you done to remove the strut mount with the springs and the rest of the front suspension in place? Not sure if the car will bounce up from spring pressure? I have no motor or anything for weight in the front end. I still need to be able to roll the car around to push it in the booth. I thought about using spring compressors to hold tension on the springs till I was done and the paint cures for a few days.

Uhhh yeah, if you have FE2 or F41 spec springs, and not much bolted on the front end, as soon as you unbolt the strut mounts the car will pop up about 2". You'll want to either clamp the springs, or figure out a way to tie the control arms to the crossmember to keep the A arms from swinging down from the spring pressure. Still, you're not going to be rolling anything around on the front tires with the struts unbolted at the top, the spindle will just flop around without the strut mount. If you really need to roll the car, you'll probably want to build a dolly of some sort with wheels that you can stick under the front end.
