getting fuel for a second or two and then it cuts off
I've got an '89 RS 305 TBI. I rebuilt the motor this spring and it ran for a few days and then wouldn't any more. I had a mechanic working on it as a side project, but my daily driver broke down so now I'm stranded so I would like to get the camaro running.
What's happening is that I try to start her up and she cranks and the injectors fire enough for her to start, but then the injectors stop spraying and it just dies. I tried revving it a little bit to maybe keep the fuel flowing but it did the same thing.
What could cause the fuel to be cut off? Any ideas? I could really use any advice you guys could give. Thanks.

Are we having a fuel pump plague around here or what?
It is most likely the fuel pump but replace the fuel filter first. I know my car had the original fuel filter in it when I bought it with 100k miles so its a commonly overlooked problem but I have never heard of a filter being so clogged that it wouldn't run at all.
Might also be a bad fuel pump relay but I would think that the engine would never run at all.

If you have the means, do a data capture during this fuel cutoff event and post the results here. I (and others) may be able to figure out something, if only a lead, from the data.
Oh yeah, one more question. When it stalls, will it restart by turning the key immediately back to start? Or do you have to cycle the ignition off, then back on, start, etc. to get it to spray fuel?

I am having the exact same problem as you are. So far I have replaced the fuel filter, plugs, fuel pump relay. My next replacement is the ignition module. I am not getting any codes either. I can also start it right back up after it dies.
