Help finding O-Rings?
I cant seem to find anyone that carries the large and small o-rings for replacing injectors. TPI injectors are plentyful and everyone seems to know about those but no one can understand what a TBI injector is.
I have already checked NAPA, autozone, advance auto parts, and my local dealer.
also, anywhere online that does a good job with cleaning injectors and flow testing. I have quite a handful of 55#ers that need cleaning and testing still.

The only way I know of to get the injector o-rings is through a TBI rebuild kit. Actually, now that I think about it, I believe TurboCity sells injector installation kits, that just comes with the o-rings and gasket that you need to swap or replace injectors. They will also clean and flow-test injectors, too, IIRC, but their website has been down for the past week. Some people have had problems with them, though.

If your current O-rings arnt torn, hardened, or scored, you can just reuse them. Like you implied, theyre hard to find at the local stores so Ive yet to replace any of mine. Just oil them up and pop 'em back in.
The rebuild kit is teh only place to find new ones, and theyre getting hard to find. Last time I went I bought all of the rebuild kits available in my area, which only turned out to be one.

Thanks for the help. im taking dimented's advice and just reusing my parts.
btw my 88 seams to have a diff fuse box setup (or at least a diff one from my haynes manual.) Just to make sure, do i disconnect the fuse labeled "f/p - inj2"
I dont have a fuse labeled "fuel pump" like the manual says so i wasnt quite sure. If neither of those which is it?

The only thing you need to do prior to reusing them is carefully inspecting each o-ring for damage. When uninstalling the injectors they can possibly tear or be scored. Also make sure to apply clean motor oil or grease to the o-rings to lubricate them when you re-install the injectors. Of course, also inspect for leaks when done the installation.
EDIT: There is the increased risk of having leaks down the road since your reusing your old parts. I havnt really had any trouble yet, though. Ive reinstalled my current o-rings in my holley many times without any problems.

No need to pull the pump fuse to relieve pressure. Just make sure to take the gas cap off. The residual pressure in the tank can cause fuel to flow out of the lines when theyre disconnected. Probably also not a bad idea to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery.

disconnecting the battery was a given, but all i should do is take the gas cap off? My neighbor replaced his injectors on his mustang yesterday and pulled his fuse then let it run for over 15 min just to relieve the pressure. Im guessing its more of a maintenance manual being overly cautious.
Ill go ahead and get to it then. dimented you make injector swaps sound so easy
thanks for the help

ok i went to pry off the fuel meter cover and accidently slipped and popped it off. The gasket broke, so i was thinking about using some gasket sealer stuff where you squeeze out a line of sealer and it molds/drys into place. will this work? I cant order a new one from turbo city since i need it now.
Also the fuel pressure regulator has a gold coil/wire sticking out the bottom and im not sure if it attached to anything. is this normal. i can get some pics if need be. It looks like it would have attached to something, but i thought the regulator and meter cover just came right off. Any help would be great

I know how you feel, and it sucks. I broke my injector pod last week and I'm still waiting now for a decent used one.

nope. its a tiny little coil/wire string thing inside the little hole on the bottom of the regulator. It doesnt look too important, but im not sure. Im off to walmart for a minute to get some gasket sealer. Hopefully i can figure this out.
