A few simple questions

Ok first of Merry Christmas guys, I just need to know a few thing about the hotrod lol.

First off on the heater valve delete, can I just run a soild hose from the heater core to the intake instead of using the plastic elbow?

Also does it matter which hose goes on which side of the heater core?

What size plastic plug do I need to plug off that line on the frame rail, because when I went to the parts store there were several size ones.

If I leave the vacuum line from the heater valve open after the bypass, will it make the car run like trash?

Lastly, is it safe to take my TBI to 5000 Rpms when revving it with 175,000 miles on it? It slightly burns a little oil, but not like a smoke screen. Thanks guys.

no real reason to take a stock 305 tbi to 5,000 but, whatever floats your boat i suppose. The cease to make power around 4,000 so the factory 4,500 shift point puts you back in your torque band well. Probably the only time that it would benefit you is if you had some good tire spin outa first and didn't wanna lag through 2nd.

Think of it this way, everytime you drive you rev your engine. Revving your engine isn't something that is life threatening to the motors or anything. If you want to rev a motor I suggest putting it in neutral and just rev from there. As long as you don't hit red line zone or just stay in the red zone your engine will hold up just fine.

5000rpm is plentiful, the highest I have ever revved my motor was 4200rpm. There's no reason for me to go beyond that...

as far as your original questions go yes you can run a straight hose from your intake to the heater core. I've already done it with 3 different cars with no problems yet.The size pipe plug you need is a 3/4 inch you can get at any auto part store. As far as the vacuum line for the heater it depends if you want to keep your cruise control if you leave the line unplugged. I just capped off the main vacuum source for both so I wouldn`t have that problem.

As far as I know the car dont have cruise control....I followed it back and it went into a cluster of wires and stuff. Where does it end up at? Also it doesnt matter which hose goes where in the heater core right?
