I know many members of this board have not believed us on aftermarket chips. I had a good laugh when I read this one and compared it to the factory. I happened across a Hypertech 122122 (AWLD/AWLC 1614299) for a 92 Chevy Truck/Van with a 350 in the local yard, got it for $2.00. Pulled the factory style connector off of it and read it. Then compared it to the stock chip (AWLD) from my 1992 G20 van ECM that ran my 1983 for a while. The ONLY differences were in the timing advance in the 90-100KPA region and possibly delaying the torque converter clutch lockup (wasn't shown on the difference search). Fuel tables were untouched. In fact I read the chip 5 different times thinking there was a mistake in the spark table, but that is what they did.

FWIW, I found a memcal for a SD TPI Camaro 305 that had a Hypertech in it. Compared it to what would have been in the car, stock. Basically the same changes were done, and the PE fuel leaned slightly. On the TBI truck they didn't even do that.

I've noticed the same things on the hypertech chips I looked at. Their junk no questions asked.

IMO, it was worth the $2.00 for the good laugh though.

Even the Edelbrock MPFI conversion .bins, which you would think would have many calibration changes to run the 8 Pico injectors vs. 2 TBI injectors have no changes to the code in regards to injector calibrations much less injector firing strategy. The changes they made are worse than laughable. They're pathetic when you consider what you pay for it. JMHO

I have seen those as well. What is funny is that the timing table starts at 20*. I have never seen a swirly headed engine need 20* of timing @ WOT and less than 1,500-2,000 rpm.

I have also found out that the APAB 4.3 .bin (modified for my 3.4) runs a MPFI 3.4 that was in my GMC Jimmy great. That is 3 injectors wired to each driver. No ECM modifications.
