I took the insulation out from under my hood, it was torn up in spots and looked like crap. Am I gonna have any adverse effects from it? It looks sooo much nicer under the hood now, I'd hate to put it back on for any reason.

 

I've took them off both of my cars, and had no problems. They really do look a lot better don't they!!??

get a brand new one from the dealer for like 20$. Its like 1$ a peice for the little caps that hold it in. Thats what i would recomend

took mine out two years ago, along with the rear hood seal

no problems to speak of

 

In the long term it may have bad effects on your paint. The temps will eventually weaken the paint. But this occurs after many years of exposure to this. As far as immediate effects, none I've experienced.

I have mine off also, although I plan to put a fiberglass hood on my car eventually. You can pick up a relatively new insulation in a yard for $3 and just pocket all the clips

y would u get a hood insulation from a yard. Most likely its in the same shape as ur old one. For a mesily 20$ i think i would just get a fresh one. Thats just me.

BTW taz my paint job got me 1500$ when i had it done this summer. im not sure if i included my sig yet but if not take a look in there for a pic. That was just after the paint job.
