roller or hydraulic???

Do the L03's and L98's have roller cams or hydraulics? B/C I want to do the LT1 swap in and know those are roller cams. But, I don't want to have to buy lifters for the roller cam (if the L03 isn't already a roller).
Also, can you run a hydraulic cam w/ roller lifters and vice-versa????
Thanks

Cam profiles are unique, so no you cant mix and match. In short:

Roller has a flat surface, made of steel
Hydraulic has a tapered surface to spin the lifter, made of cast iron

And so someone doesnt get technical on me... the taper also pushes the cam towards the back of the block.

Madmax is correct. Always use the kind of lifter that is designed to go on the kind of cam you are using. ROLLER lifters, are usually ok to reuse if the engine is just not totally caked up with oil deposits due to those 20,000 mile or more intervals between oil changes. If your lifters all roll freely and just throughly clean them and they should be good to use. Just as a footnote - Its not a good pactice to run new lifters on an old HYDRAULIC cam. I've seen people do this in the past, but it always results in a wiped out a lobe or two in a very short period, filling your engine with fine abrasive metal shavings, putting bearing life on the path to an early retirement.
I would recommend going with the Hydraulic roller personally, I'm planning on doing the same thing to my L03 after I get finished putting the 383 in my 82 Z28 (My current project). If you go with the LT1 cam, keep us posted, I have one of those that I am thinking of running myself.
