How do I check the spray pattern of the injectors?
Just how do you guys check the spray pattern of the injectors? I haven't been able to just look at the injectors while the car is running and see the pattern very good.
I tried taking a timing light and hooking it up and and pointing at the spray because I heard this would help. Still didn't see too much. Maybe I just don't know what I'm looking for......

Well the problem is I really can't tell what it's doing. When I hooked up the timing light I thought I could see little droplets every now and then but it was so inconsistent. I guess I don't have a really good idea in my mind of what I'm actually looking for.
Of course I was looking at idle. Would increase the RPMs make it alot easier to see?

ya, take your aic cleaner off, i hope you already have.
now start the car. rev the motor with the linkage. you will see in plain light without a timing light, that the fuel is spraying out of the injectors. you will hear it too.
what you want to be looking for is that there arent any large drops just dropping straight down. you want all the fuel to be spraying out in a conical even shape, having it hit the throttle bore sides as close to the blades as possible.
why are you looking at/examining this in the first place. are you having problems.???

Oh I have to take the air cleaner off.....I did that.
I'm looking at fuel delivery because I'm getting some problems with some pretty nasting pinging after I reset the computer.
