Gut the cat?
Gut the cat?
Ok, the question is not if i should do it or not. I have to, it's plugged. I will get a high flow cat, once i have the clutch and sway bar linkage in, but i can't afford it right now. Any tips? What about the sound?
Thanks!

I just put a piece of pipe in place of it. I used a piece of 2 1/4'' piece and just slid it into where the flange is. I had the piped stepped down to slide in the flange. The sound changes totally. I have a Flowmaster 80 series muffler and when it is floored the car is loud as s*** when outside of it. You will also notice a great deal of improvement with out it.

3" pipe in the place of mine and 3" cat-back. Everything worked peeerfectly with the 3" collector from the headers too.

On "2thpick's" S10 we just just unbolted the I pipe and took a peice of conduit and a hammer. It took us a while but we smashed the stuff that was blocking the exit small enough to be blown out of it.
We would beat the chunks into smaller chunks for a while then I would have him start it up and rev it high enough to blow the stuff out of it, then we would smash some more.
His was plugged he could only go 35mph top speed, and only rev to 3000rpms floored.
