(92)before i go changing the oil pump what else should i check at idle my cars oil pressure stays at about 28 then when im driving down the road it will go up to 60 sometimes couple minutes later it will be back down to 30 next minute 40 just skipping around i just changed the oil sending unit and the same thing still happens

I bet your oil pressure gauge is bad, get a real oil pressure gauge and hook it up and check the pressure that way, oil pumps on chevys almost never go bad so I don't think that is your problem.
