Once I solved that little problem, I burned a few more chips to fine tune it and now it runs super and kicks butt. I can highly recommend this combo, it works.
I used the stock TBI intake and bored it out to 2" a 454 t/b, ZZ4 cam, Sportsman II heads (pocket ported),68# inj., 1 3/4 headers, 3" Ex., and MSD 6a ign.(just because I had it).

good job. Any dyno numbers? I remember an old truck mag that put together a 383 with a edelbrock top end (their heads and TBI intake) and they got like 450TQ and 300HP on a stock bore TBI.

Yeah, dyno numbers would be great. I think the intake is probably going to hurt the output, but I'm pretty sure that you used it for a good reason. Seeing as you have a 3200# n/a camaro in the 8's, I imagine you know your way around horsepower.
Tas, did I catch that last part of your sig right? Are you selling a set of hooker headers? If yes, lemme know if they're used, and how much you'd want.

They're brand new, but I'm not shipping them anywhere. One of the cars in my family was totaled so my sister has had the Formula ever since. I never got to put them on.
I should get it back around Nov. though.

Hey DD - any way you can email me the spark/fuel "maps" you used? I need a base to start with on my Haltech and I have no idea where to start. I'm not sure what your data looks like but anything has got to be better than nothing...

We just now got the car tuned in, no time for dyno numbers yet. The owner is planning on going to the drag strip with us on Sept 8th. Remember its in an 87 El Camino he converted from LG4.

Kevin, you said earlier that you were having a tough time getting the stock computer to accept a burned chip? How'd you fix it, or was it just something else that was causing it to run bad?

Chuck: When we first hooked it all up I forgot to change the power steering switch to one that is N/O so that was throwing the computer into a stallsaver mode, when I unplugged it everything started working right.
