Choices...
I recently acquired a 87 S-10 Tahoe. This 2.8 liter motor has TBI. Eventually this motor will be yanked in favor of a LB9 305 long block. This LB9 is from a 85 IROC. I also have a carb and controlling hardware for a 83 LG4. Question 1, did GM use a different TBI for the 2.8 and LO3? To me, TBI is not a performance setup (at least compared to TPI), but would work nice in a truck. If they (2.8/5.0)use the same injector body, could the computer be rechipped to make it think it is running a V8?

2.8L TBI is MUCH smaller than L03. Some of the S10's use the same ecu as the fullsize. If so you might just be able to change the chip and switch to the 350 tbi which you can pick up pretty cheap on ebay and make a nice running s10.
