Knock sensor question

I am having trouble finding a V8 knock sensor that is 3/8" like the V6 ones are. I know they exist cause my 95 K2500 with a 5.7 has the 3/8-18 threaded KS but the local parts stores only list KS's for V8's as being 1/4-18 thread. They tried all sorts of cars and trucks looking for one but couldn't come up with anything. Where can I find a V8 KS that is 3/8-16 thread? Is it even true that I cant use the 4.3 KS with the 5.7?

Re: Knock sensor question

yes its true that you can't as knock sensors are designed around what engine bore they are going into. I am pretty confident that they are def not 1/4 thread, the one in my 92 has got to be at least 3/8. Try a 1992 Camaro z28 with a 350...that should work fine
