Carb intake problems...
Hi guys. At the moment, I am building a stroker-engine in my 88´transam. My intake is a spread bored edelbrock air gap. I´ve got some problems with this carb-intake. The throttlebody is closer to the firewall. Now, the accelerator- and the tv-cable are too long. The bracket was direct fit.
Second problem. I´m going with the TBI-adapter-plate. I cannot connect the brake booster line, because it hits the righthand fuel fitting on the throttlebody.
Third problem. I want to go with the tall perimeterbolt valve covers. I cannot fix the lefthand valve cover. The positive bolt on the alternator is too long.
Can you help me ? Do you have pictures ?
I think, i am not alone with these problems ?!
Greetings from germany

Re: Carb intake problems...
Hi,
Airgap intakes appear to be somewhat of a pain generally with TBI.
To solve most of the fitment problems I might advise to have a look at the 7101 Edelbrock RPM intake instead.
Costs around EUR 220 from us-parts-online.de and appears to be more of a direct fit (carb to TBI adapter plate required and a few shims to re-align the tv cable evening out the height difference with the stock intake.
In your sig I see you have pretty much fitted the list of parts I´m currently looking at, including cam and heads. How´s compression with those 081 heads?
