Code #53 Help!..

Isn't this showing VATS error? Well, the security light turns on and shuts off in 3 sec. I'm confuse how the injector connectors are not getting signal to fire both injectors, does VATS control the ecm to fire injectors am I right?

The car would crank, but how did i get a code 53?

I'm really stuck on this injectors not firing, but the car is getting spark. Can this be a faulty ecm?

To someone out there who has the same issue like mine, please help me to bring this car back to life

Re: Code #53 Help!..

A lack of the VATs signal to the ECM will cause the ECM to not fire the injectors.

Since the security light works OK, and the engine cranks, either the VATs module output to the ECM died, or the ECM is bad.

The VATs module is attached to the front side of the defroster duct. Wedged between it and the firewall.

Best way to test is with an o-scope, look at the signal on pin B6 at the ECM. Should be a 30Hz square wave, 5 volts.

A DVM on the DC scale should show about 2.5 volts.

Alright, I've tested ecm and vats module. Resulted 2.8v on vats module and 4.80v on ecm which they're okay. Could there be a broken wire somewhere?

Well, I checked for power with test light on (red) injector connector but didn't get any power, as well as for the (blue) no power on ground as well.
But for the other injector seemed to be fine because i get power and ground from there.

I wanted to trace this red wire to check if its broken, but i can't seem to find where is this connected to?

"Update" Passenger side injector is getting signal and would fire gas if i probe the (purple/white) wire connector from ICM.

I don't know what's wrong with the driver side injector, it does nothing at all? It doesn't get signal at the inj connector?

I switched the connectors, now I'm not getting any power on both inj. connectors while key is on and no ground on ecm as well?
