Doesn't seem to run on all cylinders
Doesn't seem to run on all cylinders
Hey guys. I'm really struggling with this camaro. Basic info, 305TBI, automatic.
So I've done a lot to get this car running, injectors, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, ign module, fuel pressure regulator and iac valve.
So here's what's going on with it. Upon first starting, it will Rev up and down constantly, and occasionally stall out. I thought the iac valve would fix that, but no dice. After running it for a while, the idle will smooth out and hold around 1k. Sometimes I can hit the gas and with only a slight hesitation, it will Rev up no problem. Other times, it bogs down and almost dies. I've also tried driving it, and as soon as I put it in gear and give it gas, it stumbles. It just seems to have absolutely no power, and then out now nowhere it will just jump right up and take off. It's almost like at times it's just not running on all cylinders, then intermittently it does. The check engine light did come on this last time and I read the codes off it.
12- This just seems to indicate that the diagnostic program is working correctly.
14- Coolant temp sensor error(low temp)
22- TPS signal low
34- MAP sensor(signal low vacuum high)
44 - Left bank O2 sensor lean condition
Now the TPS code was probably thrown because I disconnected the sensor to see if it changed how the car ran. And the Coolant temp sensor was Jerry wired when I got the car, so that may be what's causing that to come up. Other than that, what do you guys think? Thanks.

i had the same problems i changed the rubber line on the fuel pump it would suck air once low changed the fuel filter replaced the map sensor and it was fixed. If you can try a new map it would probably fix most of your problem

Re: Doesn't seem to run on all cylinders
This ^^^^^^^ the computer diagnoses engine condition with the coolant temp sensor, if it's not getting an accurate reading within normal spec then the computer freaks out and causes the car to run in the safest possible conditions to keep itself alive, which is terrible for performance and fuel mileage.
