Rusty Fuel lines

91 Camaro RS V8

My fuel return line has rusted through, along with my brake line, near the fuel filter. Since I have the transmission out getting rebuilt, and exhaust manifolds off to install headers, I figure I should replace all 4 lines now. Problem now is I'm having a hard time finding the correct lines. I have found the correct brake line, but I'm having a hard time finding the correct fuel lines for the TBI. I have found the lines for TPI and carbed cars, but not TBI. Anybody have the correct part #s or where I can find them?

Also, is this gonna be pretty straight forward? Or is this gonna be another pain in the *** job?

Re: Rusty Fuel lines

Thanks for the link. Although the trouble I'm having is actually finding the correct lines (and part #s) for the TBI. Ever place I've called says we have lines listed for carbed cars or TPI cars.

Can anybody tell me for sure if the lines that fit carbed cars will work? Or is it the lines for the TPI cars that work?

29 is #15618248
31 is #10055815
20 is #10038113

I pulled the numbers out of my parts and illustration catalog, but the pic I posted earlier is from www.wholesalegmpartsonline.com/

Buy tubing, a tubing bender, and a tubing flare set.

That comment has nothing to do with my question and is unnecessary. I have the tools, don't feel like doing that unless I have too. Pre-bent lines will look much cleaner than my homemade lines.

Luckily, I found the correct lines.

Where did you find the lines?

The lines I need are the same lines as the TPI lines. It's just that they aren't listed specifically for TBI. I ordered them from Jegs, free shipping!

Re: Rusty Fuel lines

Glad you found what you needed. Whose line (brand) does Jegs carry?

Post back and let us know how this goes. I'd be curious to know if you run into any difficulties.

Re: Rusty Fuel lines

Jegs carries The Right Stuff replacement lines. Funny thing though, when the guys at Jegs couldn't figure it out. I called The Right Stuff's tech line, and even they didn't know which lines were the correct lines for TBI cars.

I don't think it's gonna be all the difficult, I already have the transmission out (just got rebuilt) and the exhaust manifolds off (installing headers). So I have plenty of room.

I do have to give a shout out to Hawks Third Gen, Kyle called me today and verified my findings.

Re: Rusty Fuel lines

I'm glad you found what you needed. When I saw the diagram posted I thought the line from the fuel filter to the flexible hose in the engine compartment (part #22) looked just like the lines on my TPI. It's just on the TPI motor the line from the flexible hoses to the injectors are different.

If I didn't see that you answered your own question I was going to say get the TPI line (#22) it's the same on both injection system types.

Have fun.
