My 305 is starting to show its age and miles and w/ it leaking oil and starting to run like crap, I'm thinking of going w/ a rebuild. Yes, a 350 would be fantastic, but I also gotta get my hood repainted as well as other things so that is just out of the question...for the time being. How much would it cost me to have the engine rebuilt? If its not overly much i'm going to be doing this before the summer but after i get my hood painted. Thanx for any help (by the by, should i post engine problems in here as opposed to the tech/engine forum b/c i rarely get any response when i post in there)

the LO5 for the caprice, it has roller cam, single piece rear main seal, same intake bolt pattern....

 

Well my interest in rebuilding a 305 is slowly dwindling and the 350 is starting to take over . If i wanted to keep the tbi unit how hard would it be to convert this over to th 350? I would do a search, but i hope its just easier this way. Is there anything else i'd have to change if i put a 350 in? I remember talking to a buddy of mine and he said that a 350 or a 305 swap into my car is no different so it shouldnt be that hard, is that correct?
