Well 262s have to be similar to 261s right??? Should I just scrap these heads??? Im so ticked. But Im going to make this one fierce 305!!!!!!!!

Maybe I heard the guy wrong and they arent 262s!!! Whats most common on 305s?

416s are the most common on 305s from 78-86. L03 "187" and 87-92 most were "081" 262s?

Whoever is selling the heads may be talking about the SBC 262 from the 1975/76 Chevy Monzas, and not a casting number. The heads delivered with the 262 V-8 were a 60cc chamber, 1.84/1.50 valve, and were not necessarily that high in flows. I don't know the casting numbers of the heads from the 262 V-8. However, if anyone ever finds a crankshaft from one of those engines, let me know ASAP. It used the same journals as the 350, but had only a 3.10" stroke (can you say "RPMs"?)

Thats exactly what car he said it came from........those and Novas. So are those heads better than LO3's or not???
