What is the best Tech/General Engine tip you
have picked up here on the Thirdgen list ?
Any specific thread you may have thought particularly useful ?
How about the most clever, "The I should've thought of that
moment" ? The most "MacGyver" posting ?

That's a toughie. Everything I've learned here has been amazing. Only if I found this site before I bought my car.
TRANNY BOARD
TransGo Shiftkit is the only one to buy
How to correctly pick rear gears for your cam's powerband, wish I found that out sooner.
TV Cable adjustments
TECH BOARD
can't remember everything, but some good ones
car won't start
car running hot
which cam to pick
APPEARANCE BOARD
all the great pics
Which Products Work, Zaino is awesome but expensive, I'm happy with Meguiar's Step 1-3
EXHAUST
The great debate, which is better Flowmaster or Hooker Cat-back
the truth about backpressure
There's some for ya.
I knew nothing about 3rd Gens before this site, and very little about cars in general. Everyone has been a big help. I actually gave my brother advice for picking out a 3rd Gen. He's owned probably 40-50cars, built I don't know how many motors. He was looking at an RS, I know how he likes goin fast and the 305 TBI he wouldn't like.

My nomination is for most MacGyver posting is a toss up ....
Suspension / Chassis / Brakes > And yet another fix for weak rear discs
and
AndyZ28's door hinge fix
Both of these are so good they make me chuckle
and from the Tech general engine has got to be
R134a conversion questions
Anybody else ?

I'll ditto Mark's first comment.
My own tidbit:
From Motor Swap forum: V6 to V8 swap ain't worth it (unless sentimental value involved). Actually, I learned this as the V8 was dangling from the cherry picker, and the neighbor pulled up in the '87 TPI 350 'Bird he'd just bought for less than I already had in the driver and donor cars.
I also had my car before I knew about this site.
