Block # Question

I did a search and I guess I got the wrong #s off the block.
My brother just got an '85 SC and was told it's a '70 chevelle 350.

Here are the #s I got.

14B427145
To917CMR

My brother got this off from in front of the alternator.

Mark,
From what I found on the nastyz28.com website, that is a 1974 350 from a chevelle.
Look on the back of the block, (I don't remember wich side) and get the casting number too. With all those numbers and the website info, you can find out just about anything.
Hope it helped.
Jeff

Awesome, thanks, so the B for Baltimore is that where the plant is?

If I'm correct in my decoding of the numbers you posted, the engine was assembled in Tonawanda, Ny and the car was assembled in Baltimore.
I would say, go to www.nastyz28.com and check out the numbers decoding section. It is chock full of info.
