rpo codes not listed?
I'm trying to figure out if i have a 9 bolt or a 10 bolt, so far by looking at the rpo codes i know i have a G92 package 86 Z-28 with the 3.23 gear ratio, i'm guessing it's not posi, but how do find out if the bolt size and if it's BW or something else? Thanks. Oh and i had a different post and i listed that i had a 2.73, i was wrong sorry about that.

Well an easy way to tell if you have a 9 or a 10 bolt is..... [insert drum roll here]..... count the bolts!!
And as far as gear ratios, have you changed your fluid lately? Then you need to pop the cover off anyway, don't you? And while you're there, you could..... look!
It's less trouble to actually look at what you've got than it is to berate your fellow Internet users about why nobody is decoding your RPOs for you, not to mention that there's a significant probability that whatever the factory put in there has been changed anyway.

When I first got into the "performance" side of cars I had no Idea what people meant by "9 bolt" "10 bolt". Someone had to tell me to count the bolts on the inspection plate.
Sometimes the obvious isnt so obvious (sp) To a "Newby" isnt that one of the objectives of this board...to inform the uninformed.
I'm sure I must have missed something....RB has been alot of help to me....he seems a little irretated!!!
When you have the plate off count the teeth on the ring gear and then the pinion gear...divide the ring count by the pinion count and you have your ratio....
