350 Swap w/computer
Will swapping in a 350 for the L69 throw the computer off? It seems like it would be a fairly easy swap, I'm just not used to working with computerized cars. Should I keep all the computer stuff anyway? Thanks.
not if you keep all the ecm controlled parts. the knock senser would be differant i believe but if you kept the carb and distributor the increase in inches would change anything. there might be a need for a differant prom to get the most out of the 350
My LG4 computer works almost like it was made for the 350 I put in. Your L69 computer is similar, and the chip is probably more suited for it than mine. In my opinion keeping all of the computer stuff makes the swap easier. Later on down the road you might want to get an '87 LG4 computer and the ZZ4 chip, but I dunno how much of a difference it would make. For the swap all you would need for everything to work right is a different knock sensor and electronic spark control module.

I think everything that comes off your L69 will work fine for a 350.
The only thing I would get would probably be a set of headers for a 350.
I know your intake is a bolt-on switch, just not sure if the ports would need enlarged or not. You really don't need to swap out the computer. They really don't control much. Computer technology sucked back then. The L69's already have a slightly richer fuel curve than a LG4.
Maybe step up the secondary rods and hangers to a "CK" rods and "B" hangers. But if you have an L69 with the original carb, you already have a decent rod/hanger combo.
I also agree with flyway190 - I just have'nt heard about the 87 Lg4 computer thing before.
Afternoon shift sucks.

These are what I'm using:
350 knock sensor (10456288) $35
350 escm (16128261) $65
The intake ports are the same. Your intake will work fine as long as it's not warped and you modify the bolt holes if you get a newer-style engine.
If you find the list of parts in the emissions legal ZZ4 kit and copy down the part number for the computer that comes with it, then go to the ACDelco website and tell them you have an '87 LG4 Camaro and want the part number for its computer, you'll see that they match. I'm not sure what the specific differences are, but apparently Chevy thought it was enough of a difference to supply it with the kit. Someday I'll get it and the chip and go down to the track for comparison.

DOH!!!
Sorry flyway 190. I just opened the address you posted above.
I see you've already done this swap.
I'll save it for my swap, if you don't mind.

you need a knock snesor for like an 87 camaro (it came with 350's) pretty much most everything else should work fine
I just did the 305 to 350 swap, man this baby halls a$$ now, still needing a POSI thou. doing some finishing touches, like a B&M megashifter
