Simple head disassembly question.

Last night I was disassembling my vortecs to prepare them for machine work. I compressed the springs, removed the keepers, and then pulled off the valve stem seal but the valve will not fall out. When you try to pull them out they just "bottom out" on something inside the guide. Am I missing something here? I've disassembled a few heads in my life-time but none have done this ...the valves just fall out but these will NOT come out at all.

Thanks,
Chris

you have a burr on the valve tip or around the keeper groove file it down a little and they should come right out. if you force them they'll remove metal from the guide.

What would cause all the valves to be like this? There does seem to be a very very slight lip

Thanks,
Chris
