Code 32
Code 32
I'm getting a code 32 and my car is running beyond rough. My Haynes says it's a baro sensor problem but I also see it might be an EGR problem. My egr vacuum switch (I don't kmow what else to call it) was chattering. I currently have the computer unplugged so it will run. I've tried a new baro sensor. Any ideas??
Skip,
Sorry, I didn't see the post earlier.
What is the idle vacuum reading? If you're not getting a lot of smoke and/or backfiring, your description sounds like a pretty severe vacuum leak, and the ECM would interpret the low MAP/BARO reading as an EGR problem. Remove the valve and inspect the pintle and seat, and the EGR base gasket. The EGR diaphragm may hold vacuum, but the valve and base flange need to seal as well.
You might also have a different vacuum leak, like the PCV, brake booster, carb flange or intake gasket, etc. If you can get your hands on a vacuum gauge, get a reading while you try to hold an idle speed.
