Keep my 3rd gen or go lt1??
Keep my 3rd gen or go lt1??
Ok here goes...This summer I should have at least 3k to possibly buy another car for a daily driver. I thought about just selling my car + the 3k to get a nice LT1 6 speed. It would get decent milage, id have AC again, and a manual tranny. Ive put alot of money into my car resently which is tempting me not to sell it.
If I dont sell it I want to get a v6 4th gen for a daily driver or a DSM.

Man, I would keep your thirdgen, it is pretty bad ***. I anything, you know just as well as I do, that you could probably make yours faster and get more gas mileage for alot less than an LT1. For exampl,e if you havent done roller rockers, shoot for it, I dont know thats my opinion.
I had a 1995 firebird formula, Girls love it,its a great handling, extremely efficient(I got 28 MPG on a 250 mile trip at 70MPH),Fun(you'll love the torque and rowing the gears after bypassing the damn skip shift) DEATHTRAP. I loved that car after searching for a car that hadn't been wrecked(which will be very scarce just look at some dealer body shops) I plunked down $7000 for one and within six months had my first close encounter of the worst kind (never drink and drive period these things feel like they are going 35 at 70,Long windshield maybe the throughoff dunno) anyway minor skirmish with ditch renderd passenger door useless, plastic crap just fell to pieces(Should have learned from this). one $500 door and $800 worth of other misc and it was back going. 4 months later I was cruising late one night it had rained all day and I came around a curve low and behold a car sitting there lights off pull the wheel left then right to miss them and it's down through the woods I hit a tree sideways and it ejected me out of the car head first side window popped out nicely door desintergrated(sic?) the Bar in the middle stayed put. After shaking off and feeling extremely fortunate to be alive I fixed it once more and promptly sold it to a guy who kept asking for it. I'm not blaming it all on the car but if you look through the internet for crash pics your gonna see a lot of these cars and look through the fixable wrecks autotrader you'll see quite a few low mileage 4th gens for sale. Just my 2 cents.

hers is my .02 cents. Keep your car. I had a 97 trans am ws6 and it sucks to work on. Half the engine is under the windshield and the SES light comes on for anything you do to it. Make your car beat the Lt1's. its always nice to see a thirdgen kick some punks *** in a lt1
I sold my T/A after one year and bought my 4th thirdgen. I just loves our cars.
