Help!!!! need info on main/rod bearings

Transmission: MD8 (700 R4) + 3.42 LS1 Rear
Help!!!! need info on main/rod bearings

the LT1 uses the same rod/main bearings as a standard sbc correct(L98)? i'm gonna be pulling the bottom end out to replace the crank. gotta put in new bearings right... don't ask long story .

Mystik,

I know the LT1 rod and main journal sizes are the same, but I never checked the shell thickness or bores when I had the '94 apart. I would presume they are the same, but you never know - there are a lot of other differences between the two designs.

take a look at this http://www.moreperformanceinc.com/bearings.htm they list the LT1/L98 Main/Rod Bearings as the same part. i will do more searching to verify this. thanks again
