but to be serious now what is the LT4.. I have heard about it but can't recall what all it is

 

the LT4 was an engine made my chevy and put into the 1996 grand sport corvette, a few impalas, and a few f bodies. its basically like an LT1, but some extra goodies...

 

I believe the lt4 has taller intake ports along with a different cam (not the lt4 hotcam) and lt4 specific intake.

just to check Lt5 is ZR-1 right?

what are the specs on that thing as far as cam timing, bore,stroke, everything I guess and how would it fare against a z06??

the LT4 only came in corvette's from gm. there were just over a 100 installed into f bodies (ss's and firehawks), but they were converted by slp engineering. check out the specs, much more impressive engine over the LT1.
