Blocks
Blocks
What is HITHERE roller block, are they the newer blocks. how can HITHERE tell if HITHERE have one, HITHERE dont think HITHERE do, 1974 vette block. can HITHERE non roller block be machined to accept roller rockers and cam? sorry for these questions if they sound dumb but im trying to learnabout this stuff
K-MAN,
The only dumb questions are the ones that are never asked.
The SBC roller-lifter engines were introduced in passenger cars in 1987. Light trucks in that year got the same blocks, but not roller lifters. Any SBC can be fit with aftermarket roller lifters (which are probably superior in design to the factory rollers) with no machining or other modification. The change does require the use of shorter push rods, roller-design camshaft, and requires you to change the distributor drive gear for one compatible with the harder camshaft gear.
The 1974 Corvette case will not be the factory roller design, but would be easy to convert.
