Starting problem, need help.

In the morning, when I go to start the car, it doesn't start up right away. I have to crank it for a while before it turns over. The rest of the day, however, it's fine. I asked my mechanic what it was, and he said that he remembers that I needed a certain part that is broken. This parts is making my engine think it it is warm when it is actually cold. What do you guys think it is? Please help. Thanks. BTW, it's an 87 L98 GTA.

I can think of something that will make the computer think the engine's cold when it's warm - coolant temperature sensor.

Perhaps someone who's more familiar with TPI can respond, but I believe there is a little device called a "cold start injector" in the system that if bad could cause that problem.
