what size plugs?

i want to plug the water outlets on the water pump that go to the heater core

what size and thread plugs do i need?

WAG is a technical term, as you found out. i use it a lot, not saw many other use it. i believe it originated in the military where so many other acronyms come from. i picked it up from a nuke i worked at ,it was semi popular there and that place was full of acronyms.

IIRC, that and others can be found in TBOA (The Book of Acronyms). Its recommended reading for all the NDWs before deployment, otherwise they could be FUBAR'ed...
