Hey guys... I need your advice on this one

Well I'm still trying to track down my oil burning problem. I think I got it down to cylinder #6. The spark plug fouls up every 500 miles or so and it's FULL of oil when I take it out. I got a compression checker and I wanna do a test tonite. What I'm trying to determine is if I have a cracked head, blown head gasket or bad rings. Would a compression test alone tell me anything or would I have to do a leakdown test also ? It looks like I might have to pull the engine again and have it warrantied by Checker. That's if the rings are bad... I pray it's not that because I need the car. Thanx for any advice you can offer.

You'll be able to tell if it is a bad head gasket or cracked head if you have ever had radiator fluid in your oil making it look like melted chocolate ice cream, or if you have a lot of oil in your radiator.

If your plug gets full of oil after 500 miles then your ring on #6 is more than likely bad. Are you sure the plug is fireing?

Yes the plug is firing. After so many hundred miles it stops however... that's when I have to change it. This is a NEW engine too.. that's what pisses me off. It's only got like 1200-1300 miles on it.
