I was installing a Miniram on my car and(like an idiot)dropped a washer down the oil return hole in the lifter valley.Has anyone dropped an oil pan on an F-BODY and how hard was it?is the frame in the way?do you have to jack up the motor?I am doing this in my driveway on jackstands and want to know what I'm in for THANKS FOR THE HELP

You need to get it out. It might harmlessly lay in the bottom of the pan, but then again, it might not.

Try jackcking the front up and drain the oil. This might carry the washer to the back of the pan. You may be able to fish an extension magnet to the pan and get it that way.

I once dropped an intake bolt in it... was able to fish it out from the top with looong extension magnet. Try that first Now I know better and I put rags everywhere when the intake's off... hehehe

The washer is nonmagnetic,I tried a magnet for a while with no luck,than I tried it on another washer and realized I was screwed.I really need to know how hard it is to drop the pan.(STAINLESS STEEL WASHER) THANKS AGAIN

dropping the oil pan on the one piece rear main seal engines is alot easier than the older ones. the drop is alot more and allows it to come out by simply jacking up the engine with the distributor out. the older two piece rear main oil pan usually doesn't come out without unbolting the trans.
