Okay, I'm a college student that wants to run in the 13's in my 91 RS. If you read my other post you understand I have a year to make this engine and get it installed. I live in NJ and want to pass emmisions testing (july next summer). I need a lot of complete ideas. I'd like to hear everybody's idea about engine/intake (I have slp stainless headers-3"-3"borla-3"out). I'm figuring I need efi to pass emmisions. Cost isn't as important to me as getting into the mid 13's. My trans is a built up 4L60. ANY IDEAS?

i by no mean an expert on the subject, but going through the same thing. when i was in school i wanna make my 82 trans am into a 12 sec car(also streetable) by building 383 with tpis mini ram. after school, i start work for about 6 month, pretty good job, steady income, but the priority change. Everyday communting isn't a fun thing(especailly u in a car with 400 hp, sitting in nj/ny traffic, with very stiff suspesion). so i am still building the 383, but instead with going efi, i am goona go with 6-71 blower and carb. the purpose of the car is fun on the weekend but not gonna be a everyday driver. with the right combination i should be in the high 10 or 11.
mid 13 isn't hard to do. and it is great to have a street machine that is capable of mid 13, but before you go down that road, just think about it... get a beater car that get u from point a to point b, and good for winter too, there are more to life than just car(i just hope i realize that eariler)
back to your question cheapest way is no2 + the right gear but it's kind risky with your stock 305 tbi.
a 355 with scat bottom end, vortect head, and tpi should put u in the 13s
last but not least unless u r bill gates, money alway matter

 

So nobody has anymore ideas, this post is more of a "if you had to do ___ what would you do?" and still nobody replys :-(
