EVAP
Well, now here's what I'm experiencing right now.. Sometimes, regardless of the situation, I smell STRONG fuel in the car. Happened two times now, and only when the outside temps are high. Also, when I parked the car today I heard a little whining noise there under the hood, which was gone when I opened the tank lid to let the pressure in the tank flow out. Tank lid closed, waited a minute, car makes 'meeeep' again under the hood.
Will it have a hole in the back when I return to the garage tommorrow? If my garage is still there then, that is
Is that some kind of.. of.. sorry, I can't translate the word, and can't find my dictionary- But you will know what I mean
Thanks for suggestions.
BTW, some swiss people connected a code scanner at the car, now its official, my code 42 is a loose contact somewhere

Flamer,
There is a tank pressure control valve as part of the evaporative emissions control system. There is also a purge valve on the EVAP canister. Check the hose routing and connections for the EVAP system, and smell around the canister itself fo fuel odors. If the EVAP cansiter is saturated with fuel, you may have found your problem. You can try to clear out the EVAP canister by connecting a vacuum line to the purge fitting and idiling the engine for ten minutes, ut you'll still need to verify proper operation and hose connections.

The noise that sounds like something blowing its nose is probably not coming from under the hood. There's a little check valve near the gas tank, right in front of and just inside the left rear wheel; that's what usually makes that noise.
The tank is supposed to be oressurized. If it doesn't have pressure, something is wrong.
If you have a strong fuel odor coming from under the hood, you probably have something wrong with your charcoal vapor canister.

Yesterday I had that noise again. Had a look under the hood, and the EVAP canister does this noise! It does smell after fuel around that thing. What does this mean? Is it broken?
