Projection Brake Booster and Vacuum Questions

I'm looking to put a new intake manifold on my L03 engine w/ TBI. I was looking at either the Holley Projection or the Edelbrock Performer for carbs and picking up an adapter that HOlley makes for it.

I know the Edelbrock has EGR, does anybody know if the projection manifold does?

I'm mainly concerned with the fact that I'm going to need to hook up my brake booster to a vacuum port on the manifold. On the stock manifold there is a fitting that the line from the brake booster ties into. Does anybody know if the projection or Edelbrock Performer has provisions for this. Looking at the pictures, if they do they're not in the same spot.

Any help on hooking up this vacuum line and any other lines/sensors is greatly appreciated,

Jason

can't get anyone to reply to your post...I know the feeling, everyone avoided my questions about the Projection manifold and the EGR provisions.

I'm currently installing the Holley Projection manifold on mine and I am having a hard time finding a EBR for it but I may have found one. Holley's Tech phone service said use a 1978 350 Truck EGR and their e-mail service said use a 1985....ahhhhh!

As far as your vacumn issue is concerned, there is a hole just behind the throttle body intake holes that is for the brake booster. I know our stock manifolds have another vacumn line coming from there so you will need to put a T-connector at that location and run both vacumn lines from that hole. Holley agreed that this would work fine. You are right though, there is no vacumn hole on the side of the manifold where the brake booster vacumn line normally attaches at.

Also, you will need to change your fuel lines because they won't fit due to hitting the new throttle bracket supplied with the manifold and your stock bracket won't work because the TB is moved forward about 1/2-1". I'm just going to replace them with braided fuel lines from where they are connected around the power steering pump.

The intake bolts you need to pay close attention to because they may hit the pushrods. You may want to buy a new set of intake bolts or put washers under your existing ones. It appears the 4 inner intake bolts are the ones that could hit due to the Holley manifold having slightly recessed bolt holes. Look at the pictures I linked below and you can see the recessed holes in the center of the manifold compared to the raised holes on the (ugly) stock manifold of mine. The holleymandside is the driver side view and the "P" is the passenger side view. Also you will see where I have the Temp sensor and the Vacumn part installed I just need to get a T-fitting for it. The water hose coming into the back of the manifold must be moved to the front of the manifold next to the Temp sensor. It's actually nicer b/c the coolant diverter valve is pointing directly at the spot where the new inlet will be located and will only require a 4" section of hose. Once I get it all on this weekend I can take some more pics of where everything was re-located at and the part numbers/materials I used so it will make it a lot easier on someone else if they decide to go with the Holley manifold. These pictures may tae a little bit to open up b/c I din't shrink them down any.

It's been a pain but with a carb intake I would probably have run into some of the same problems....and maybe not. I had to make my TB gasket bigger b/c it was made for the small holes in the stock intake and not the 2" TB holes that are on my Holley 670cfm.

Anymore questions feel free to ask.
