How much is my modified IROC 350 5-speed worth???

Unfortunately, I’ll be selling my ’85 IROC soon. I barely drove it in the last 4 years (since I got the C5). So as much as I don’t want to, I can’t keep paying insurance, look after that car, etc…

I’m totally not up the date on prices, so if you guys could help me out with a rough idea on what I can expect to get for it…

You can click on the links to see more pictures

Detailed list of modifications and more...

I’ll give a quick run down on the car:

Driveline
  • ’85 IROC
  • It has ’89 350ci (5.7L) motor with ~90K on it.
  • 5-speed manual tranny.
  • ’92 disk brake posi rear, rebuilt with new parts and 3.73 gears (very low miles on it)
  • All other bolt-ons (headers, exhaust, ignition, Holley Carb, etc.

Suspension
  • ROH 17x8.5” front 17x9.5” rims with 255/40/17 front, 275/40/17 rear tires
  • Koni (sport) yellow shocks, Eibach springs, poly bushings

Other
  • Pioneer stereo, alarm with pager, etc..
  • more details on the website

Car is in great mechanical shape. It’s obviously pretty old and I need to clean it up and fix up a few things here and there, but it’s in very good shape overall.

I’ve invested ~$17K over the years in it (put all my $$$ in it when I was young and dumb lol)
Obviously I’ll only get a fraction back, but how much do you think this car is realistically worth TODAY

Thank you very much!!!!

What your car is worth and what you can sell it for are two different things. I would think about $5,000.00 would be the going rate.

Ya id say about $5000 is right. The paint looks ok but it seems that the doors dont match quite right.

A general rune of thumb that I hear alot of people talk about when selling a car, especially a modified one, is that you usually will get about 1/2 to 2/3 of the money you put into it.

ie. if you have $10,000 in the car, expect to sell for around $5,000 to $6,600 or so.
