Update on problems
Well I finally got the pressure problem solved. I replaced the hose and clamp and removed the t-stat. No problems so far (crosses fingers). Before with the t-stat in if I drove around 3-5 mioles too much pressure would build up and blow the hose off and crack the reservoir bottle. So far yesterday after removing the t-stat I drove for about 20 miles without any problems. i have also had the fan rigged so it turns on when the key is in the on position.
Now my car is NOT shifting properly. It might just be the cable though. So I guess I will be trying that this afternoon. Wish me luck guys.
Symptoms: Slow acceleration, struggling to shift gears, poor gas mileage, bogging down sometimes
700r4 Trans, Holley Street Avenger Carb (670)
Any suggestions??

you DID change the dist. when you put the Holley on didn't you?
without the computer carb. the ecm won't know how much to advance the timming (no power), you will have to run a standard HEI dist. in place of the cc-dist.
also the 700R4 lock-up is based on some info from the computer. (hint)

Yeah I changed the distributor initially. This is the first time I've encountered this problem. This is actually the second engine in the car and the HEI dist was one of the first things I did the first time around. I guess I'll just have to go to a Tranny shop. I really think that the tv cable just needs to be set though. I'll let you know tomorrow afternoon or Thursday
