Engine smoke
Today i go to start my car a pretty good size puff of smoke flew past me coming from the back and i couldn't tell the color due to my sunglasses. Now what could this be? buring oil? Also i noticed that when i drive my car and shift into neutral pulling up to a light it will stay arounf 1500 rpm for a good amount of seconds then drop down to 800. Now i know this isn't normal. Is my engine crapping out?

Is this a high mileage engine? Maybe you are just running rich and that smoke was excess gas. Try to see if you can get a color or maybe a smell from it...

The engine is a 305 and has about 119,00 miles on it. I went to smell the exhuast kinda of gas rich. Also i was curious if the O2 sensor may be going bad?

When does it smoke? On cold startup? Or all the time when starting? Normally a puff of smoke on startu signifies valve seals leking some oil past them. Could also be rich, something to do with Coolant temp sensor could be a possibility also from what I've heard.....
