Shuddering problem(non thirdgen)
Shuddering problem(non thirdgen)
Hello, Im having a problem with my dad's Bonneville and you guys are the only place i know that i may find a good answer. What it does is it 'shudders' on acceleration, especially in left-hand turns. Right hand turns it goes smooth. Sometimes it does it straight line. I replaced the hubs and checked the tie rod ends and they seemed to be fine. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Not sure what type of "shudder" you are experiencing. A "shudder" can be caused by plug wires breaking down apon acceleration, could be the transmission shuddering, might be a driveline issue, but its hard to say.

I had a similar problem with a 86 Celebrity I had. Turned out to the the CV joint. It wasn't doing the clicking thing so I didn't ever think it was the joint but it was. If it's not engine related I think that is a very good possibility.

oh forgot to mention engine runs great
I was thinking CV joints too...but the boots looked perfect so i thought id get a second opinion
Edit-i am pretty sure its drivetrain related because it varies with which way i turn
