Stroker 391 questions

I'm planning on building a stroker motor, but I need to find 6 inch
rods for a 2 inch rod journal. Pistons would also be helpful, It's a 3.75 stroke crank with the rod jounals ground down to 2 inches to give it a 3.832 stroke. Any help would be appreciated.

I've seen that done once in a magazine article. Very creative that's for sure..don't know if it's worth the hassle or not. But that's just my opinion.

Sounds like an awful lot of trouble and expense and whanot for a piddly 8 CID. Granted, CID is a good thing; but when you add up the incremental cost of doing that and divide by 8, I think you'll find that it's a whole lot cheaper to find a 400 block, and add about 20 real-world CIs over a 383 instead of just 8, without expensive and risky magazine-article tricks.

I found rods from C.A.T that will fit my requirement for the journal size. Does anyone know if I need to use a piston with a 1.00inch
compression height or 1.25? I'm thinking of going with JE since they have the widest variety I've seen so far.

Work it out...

9.000", minus half the stroke, minus the rod length, equals the compression height you need.

Thanks for the equation RB, it comes out to 1.084. Is .084 too
much clearance for good quench? If it is I will probably need custom pistons correct?
