Porting Heads

I am thinking of letting the pros port my heads.

Gasket matching, porting the intake and exhaust ports and doing some porting in the bowl area.

They will be putting in brank new HP valves(not sure on name) current intake valve size is 1.84 and they will be putting 1.94 intake. The exhaust valve size will stay the same.

They will shave the head a little, little bit to raise the comp by like .3 or .4.

They will put in a brand new LT1 springs, new oil seals, valve guides and 1.6 rockers.

My question is:
1. What kind of improvement will I be looking at in terms of HP and Torque?
Look below at my signature to get an idea.

2. Can I use non-alligning rockers?

3. Will I run into problems with the computer?

The car is running really strong for a 305. It took me few months to find a 5 spd in a superb shape.
I love racing with Mustangs and waiting for them at the next lights.

I forgot to add the Multi Angle valve job as well.

Thanks

on how I ported my own 305 heads for my L69. Be sure that when the shop installs the 1.94 valves, that they relieve the combustion chamber around the valve or else you will experience less flow than even the 1.84 inch intake valve. Same goes with the bowl. It needs to be enlarged under the valve.

Also, be sure to post your E/T and MPH. "Really Strong" means nothing to me. My Saturn station wagon runs "Really Strong" too. So does my V8 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I couldn't answer your power increase question, but it should be noticable since it seems you've taken care of the typical induction and exhaust restrictions.

To add to what you mentioned, get screw-in rocker studs.

Or, rather than spend all that money on stock heads, get World 305 S/R's and have them pocket ported and gasket matched. It would be less money, and they'd work better. PHR mag did a comparison a few months ago (although the stock heads weren't maxed out, they were cleaned up and given a 3-angle job) - With just pocket ported S/R's, they picked up 50 hp on a 305 w/stock TPI.
