Vapor Canister question:

anyone have any long term feedback on using some sort of fuel filter to vent the tank line?

i was thinking of using a fuel filter on the end of it, then on the other end of the filter use a t type connetion, one for the vent in the inner fender well, and then the other going to the tb. just like the stock setup.

i dont mind buying another canister and a new purge vavle, but just trying to save some space and same money.

i would think this would be a full time working vapor control and i would only need to change filter.

any suggestions, comments.

I chucked my canister 2 years ago and haven't looked back.
i just put a breather filter on the end of the line coming from the gas tank.

Did it effect MPG or power or anything?

i honestly wonder if anyone that knows what the canister does has ever chucked it.

no. it never had a effect on power.

chucking it DID however make his gas evaporate when hes not using the car.... so while it doesnt effect his MPG, it will effect his Miles Per Tank...

he will get a nice fuel smell around the vent too....

personally, my only question about it is.... can a fit a 4thgen style above tank one on there so that it doesnt take any room underhood..

this is what i was maybe going to do, but mr dude brings up a good point when it doesnt need venting it still will.

so maybe i will fork out the dough for a new canister, not sure why the newer ones came sealed.
