Performer EPS, What to do with the air cleaner

I'm putting on the Performer EPS intake manifold on my 305 with the Q-Jet carb so I need an adapter which will then raise my carb and the air cleaner. This means the air cleaner won't fit under the stock hood as far as I know. Does anyone know where I can get an air cleaner assembly that will have enough drop so it will fit? The only adapter I found has a 2" lift on it. I'd like to stick with a closed element and the cowl lid to meet my cowl hood (stock). If anyone has any ideas or questions let me know.

WHY do you want to use a Qjet on a manifold specificly designed to work with a square flanged carb.

The adapter will degrade the performance gained
by this manifold.
Either use the performer manifold or a Wieand Qjet flanged dual plane or the Performer RPM with the Qjet flange. Or get a square flanged carb.

A old 60-70's GM muscle car air cleaner assembly as used on the old big block and LT-1 Corvettes and Z28's
will allow the most hood clearance under your hood with a high rise dual plane manifold.
Its better than the typical aftermarket drop base aircleaner and fits the Qjet too.
It fits with room to spare.

Noah Performance sells them and often auctions them off on Ebay. Do a search.

Other GM restoration parts supplyers carry this aircleaner too.

It's the air cleaner base you're really after. the top is the same as other generic tops.
