the perfect combo
I have a 92 z with an LB9 and T-5 tranny. I have shorty headers with 3" Y-pipe back to magnaflow. 3.55 gears. I know not many people like the 305 but it has done me well. I would like to slap a set of heads and cam in it but im not quite sure witch combo to go with. Thanks for all help. Also what kind of gains can i look for. I run a 13.81 right now. Any other perfomance tips are appreciated.

Those are excellent times you have there. What were your 60' foot times. An excellent choice for the 305 heads are the World SR Torquer 305 or the Vette Aluminum L98 heads because they both have small chambers to keep compression up. Also the stock LB9 heads respond well to porting if you are on a budget. Something like a ZZ4 or slightly bigger would good for a 305. You could go bigger if you are willing to get into PROM burning, which is reccomended.

Due to some serious tire spinning they wern't very good and I was on street tires. My 60ft time was 5.02. My times actually don't make any sense to me. I think that the previous owners my have done some work that I have yet to find out. but I'm happy with the times. I plan to make better though. I need to junk the street tires. Slaying GT's is my goal! Many plans ahead!

5.02 to 60 ft and u ran a what in the 1/4? your time must be 1/8 mile for that 60 ft time unless u strapped a top fuel after the first 60 feet. the biggest question is what is ur budget? if its wide open, then get the best of everything odviously. But like said above i think the Aluminum L98 heads would be a good option and many many people like the zz4 cam, you could consider an LT1 but that might be a little tame for you.

Typo guys sorry. Didn't reread before posting. It was meant to be 2.05 60 ft. Were could I get a set of L98 alum heads for pretty cheap? I have actually heard alot of good stuff about the ZZ4 cam. I'm going to skip the LT1 and go straight to LS1 if I do any swaping. I went to school with a guy who did and LS1 swap on his '83 from a '99 SS with a 6 speed. Very nice considering 3rd. gens weigh quite a bit less than 4th. gens.
