Car cold,won't start

My 91 RS has been sitting in the garage here in Michigan for about three weeks (been cold as heck here). We had a fender bender, whiped out front end so the car has been sitting in the garage while I replaced front end. I have tried to start after putting a good charge on the battery but no luck. Turns over ok just wont fire.

Are we frozen somewhere?

Ummm have you check the plugs, alternator, etc. I replaced the plugs in mine and started mine fine. How much gas you got?

I did a complete tune up in October so that should be ok. The car has TBI and I am not sure how to handle cold starts since the car is new to us since September. When hard to start do you pump the gas, hold all the way down, no gas pedal at all or what. I may have flooded it out. Also should I use starting fluid ?

Thanks..

Check the basics first. Make sure you have spark at the cylinders. (just stick an old plug in the end of the wire, ground it on something, and crank the engine, see what the spark looks like) Pull the aircleaner cover off, and, while cranking, see if the injectors are spraying fuel. If you have spark, and fuel, pull a couple plugs, and see if they are wet. It may be flooded, or, it
may have some other problem.

Where at in Michigan? If you are close enough, I might show up on your doorstep, and help ya out......

PM me.

I am in Troy,30 miles north of Detroit.

The injectors are injecting, haven't checked a plug yet but I will. The car was running great when I pulled it into the garage. I hadn't run it in 3 or 4 weeks. It has been in the garage however as you know it has been cold as hell here. The battery went dead so I charged it but it won't crank for very long, maybe 1 minute or so. If its flooded I don't think it cranks long enough. I think I have killed the battery also. Anyway I went home at lunch and put a light bulb under the hood to warm up the motor / lines. I was thinking there may be moisture in it that froze. Hope the light can melt it.

Looks like I may need a battery too now.
