engine run on

just picked up a 89 RS (305 TBI) and it has a run on problem. It runs for 5 seconds after the key is turned off.
How can I fix this?

timing may need to be adjusted

dieseling? Ive had a problem like that. Did a tune up on it and it stopped.

Axle/Gears: 3.42s/posi/disc

my car also did the same thing and also would not idle for crap i switched to 94 octane gas and it runs like a charm now.
